Creatures from the Sea (Grade 1-3)

Take a deep dive in this ocean themed camp where you will explore our feature exhibit- JAMES CAMERON'S - CHALLENGING THE DEEP and discover what it takes to survive under the water. Campers will create their own sea creature with special adaptations and find out if their fictional creature could really survive in the ocean. In addition to hands on activities and experiments with water, campers will see an IMAX film, watch a show in our Zeidler Dome theatre and explore our galleries.

Up from the Depths (Grade 4-6)

How deep can deep sea divers really dive? Where is the deepest part of the ocean? Discover the answers as you paddle through this exciting new camp. Campers will explore the diverse world that exists under the sea, create experiments with salt water, and explore the James Cameron – Challenging the Deep feature exhibition. In addition, campers will also see an IMAX film, watch a show in the Zeilder Dome theatre, and explore our galleries.

Science in the Snow (Grade 1-3)

Campers in Grades 1-3 can learn how to do Science in the Snow in this brand new camp! Through real life observation and hands on activities, campers will discover how the creatures survive winter in Edmonton, perform experiments with snow, and explore natural and human made insulators. Campers will be doing a mixture of hands on activities inside the science centre and outside in Coronation Park, so they need to be prepared for winter weather with the proper gear. In addition to discovering winter in the wild, campers will see an IMAX film, a star show in the Zeidler Dome, and explore our galleries, including the new feature exhibit- James Cameron's - Challenging the Deep. *As long as the temperature is above –23 C, we will be going outside each day of this camp. Campers must come to camp with proper winter gear.
