Like almost all children, Celeste is fascinated with dinosaurs. She is preparing a talk for her class about how they went extinct when Moon, a very wise and magical character, poses a tantalizing question: what if I told you that there are still dinosaurs among us?

Celeste will join Moon in a journey through time. An exciting adventure that will show them the Earth as it was in the very, very distant past.

They will see the fascinating transformations that these animals underwent over millions of years, creating giant creatures, armored beasts and super predators, until the day that a cataclysmic impact event caused a mass extinction on Earth.

But all is not lost. Celeste will discover the key to their survival.

Mummies - Secrets of the Pharaohs 2D

Using archaeological discoveries and genetics data, researchers and explorers piece together clues from mummies to better understand the culture, religion, medicine and daily life of antiquity. Relics and bodies provide a window into the world of the pharaohs and -- by reconstructing the DNA -- scientists hope to better understand present-day genetics and to advance medical treatments.

The first original large-format dinosaur film in over a decade, Dinosaurs of Antarctica will introduce audiences to the amazing and bizarre prehistoric creatures that inhabited Antarctic forests and swamps hundreds of millions of years ago. With major support provided by the National Science Foundation, the film follows a team of paleoecologists on a quest to understand the southern continent's profound transformation, from a warm and bio-diverse Mesozoic to the frozen desert we know today.

The film is shown in 2D, no special glasses required.

The quality of the film is intact, theater light levels are brighter and volume is turned down.

You are welcome to come and go as you wish throughout the performance. A relaxation zone is available in the IMAX lobby if you need a break.

The Purple Pear will be open for concession snacks.
