  • Global Soundscapes (at 2:30pm)

Visit different galleries and learning spaces for exciting drop-in programming.

Engage in hands-on activities, such as building a harmonica and learning about soundwaves.

Check out the STEAMengine in the Science Garage for a hands-on building workshop and more.

Your ticket gets you access to all drop in activities, both IMAX presentations and to our Feature Gallery, Dinosaurs: The Exhibition.

Beading and Coding (Ages 10-12)

What is an algorithm? What does it mean to write computer code? Can a computer mimic the natural world? Explore these questions and more as students create a beaded bracelet and learn how to find computer programming ideas in nature and culture. This program incorporates the use of a bead loom with pony beads to understand algorithms, patterns, designs, and sequences.

Build It (Ages 5-7)

Using a variety of materials and tools, learn how to find creative solutions to help a storybook character conquer construction challenges and obstacles. Learners will test ideas in real time.

Chilling Out (Ages 6-8)

In this chilling program., experiment with hot and cold chemical reactions, explore insulation, measure temperature, and make a very cool sweet treat using liquid nitrogen.

Cree Astronomy (Ages 9-11)

What is your relationship to the sky? Why is it important to understand the sky and how to use it? Using the sky as your roadmap, discover directions, how to tell time, and locate critical constellations. Learn about Cree constellation stories and uncover how the planets, sun and moon travel across one sky. Students will build their own constellation viewer, which they can take home to continue learning and discovering.

Little Coders (Ages 5-7)

No computer? No problem! Through play with hands-on games and activities, students will explore coding concepts without electronic devices. This computational thinking session will help provide the foundation for writing computer programs.

Make A Sound (Ages 7-8)

How does sound travel? How does the ear detect vibration? In this instrumental program, explore how sounds are created and changed through ears-on experiments and demonstrations.

Mission SPACE (Ages 10-12)

Ground control to Lunar Lander! Your mission: Discover the landing code and successfully land on the moon!

In this 45-minute program, students will explore the SPACE Gallery to complete challenges and puzzles and uncover the landing code they need to land on the moon. This student-driven gallery experience will give your students the opportunity to review the SPACE Unit in a fun, hands-on interaction with thee SPACE Gallery.

Robotics (Ages 10-12)

Step inside the Robotics Lab for a crash course on programming a Finch 2.0 robot! Students will be guided through challenges and exercises involving artificial intelligence.

Robotics (Ages 12-14)

Step inside the Robotics Lab for a crash course on programming a Finch 2.0 robot! Students will be guided through challenges and exercises involving artificial intelligence.

Robotics (Ages 8-9)

Step inside the Robotics Lab for a crash course on programming a Finch 2.0 robot! Students will be guided through challenges and exercises involving artificial intelligence.

Splendid Spectrum (Ages 7-8)

Students will participate in hands-on exploration with lenses and mirrors as they discover reflection, refraction, the movement of light, and more at the Science Centre.

Thrill Rides (Ages 8-10)

Ever wonder how roller coasters do a loopty loop? What is kinetic energy? Learn the answers as you test your engineering skills to build your own model roller coaster!
