Are you a young individual between the ages of 13 and 17, looking to discover your potential as a future leader? If so, our Leaders in Training program is the perfect opportunity for you!
Program Overview:
The Science Camps Leaders in Training program (LIT) is designed for youth ages 13-17 who are passionate about science and interested in building valuable leadership skills. Participants will gain hands-on experience working with children, develop effective science communication strategies, and explore the basics of program development and presentation. The program also emphasizes understanding child development, supporting neurodivergent individuals, and exploring Indigenous perspectives in science.
Lead and supervised by our Camps & Community Programs Presenters, LIT participants will take part in interactive workshops and spend time in camps getting hands on experience working with campers.
Participants will have the opportunity to work with children in various science camp settings, allowing them to understand the responsibilities and challenges of being in a leadership role.
Our program is built on a foundation of education and personal growth. Participants will gain essential leadership skills, such as communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork, that will benefit them throughout their lives.
Participants will develop science communication skills as they create and present STEM based activities and programming campers.
