Ground control to Lunar Lander! Your mission: Discover the landing code and successfully land on the moon!

In this 45-minute program, students will explore the SPACE Gallery to complete challenges and puzzles and uncover the landing code they need to land on the moon. This student-driven gallery experience will give your students the opportunity to review the SPACE Unit in a fun, hands-on interaction with thee SPACE Gallery.

Nature Explorers (Ages 9-12)

Explore the natural world! Students will enjoy a curriculum-based nature walk, journal their observations and learnings, spend time in theNature Exchangeidentifying rocks, pinecones, seashells and other trinkets found in the great outdoors. Observe, wonder and reflect on Edmonton's rich natural spaces.

Pandas 3D

Pandas are beloved around the world, and now they are coming to the big screen in the IMAX® original film Pandas; a breathtaking adventure documentary and amazing experience for the whole family!

Robots 3D

Today's robots are nothing short of astonishing. Those coming in the not-too-distant future are simply revolutionary and they are becoming eerily like us. ROBOTS 3D is a sneak peek into the future at what might be possible as scientists use innovative engineering and design to make cyber characters less "humanoid" and more just plain human. Robot "actor" RoboThespian will introduce you to CHIMP, ATLAS, PR-2, Herb the Butler, ICUB, and others as he takes you on an amazing tour of what's going on in robotics labs around the world.

Creativity is in full force in this two-part in-person and pre-recorded program as students design and build their own model roller coaster with a twist! Join in exploring the actions of these thrilling rides using the principles of potential and kinetic energy, velocity, inertia, gravity, and friction. Students will harness the power of science to create exhilarating motion.

Science on Tap: Science of Hockey

The Edmonton Space and Science Foundation Programming Committee collaborated with ZerOne to present a Science on Tap: The Science of Hockey on November 27. Set in a cutting-edge high-performance training facility, this unique experience allowed participants to immerse themselves in four informative presentations. Attendees had the opportunity to rotate between sessions, each featuring in-depth discussions and interactive Q&A segments. Topics covered included the intricacies of high-performance training, the mental aspects of sports psychology, the role of statistics in player performance, and the impact of kinesiology on athletic movements.

Explore Edmonton's newest high-performance training facility and gain a deeper understanding of hockey, combined with the science and passion for the sport.

Presented in conjunction with the Edmonton Space & Science Foundation Programming Committee and collaborated with ZerOne at Athleticare 8882 170 Street NW #2052, Edmonton (West Edmonton Mall).

  • The film is shown in 2D, no special glasses required.
  • The quality of the film is intact, theater light levels are brighter and volume is turned down.
  • You are welcome to come and go as you wish throughout the performance. A relaxation zone is available in the IMAX lobby if you need a break.
  • The Purple Pear will be open for concession snacks.
  • Movie Lovers may bring their assistive devices* and personal food items.
