This program has been taken to new heights!

Students will experiment with how and why things fly. Join them as they get involved in hands-on activities which explore lift, drag, and aerodynamics. Each student will build an airplane to take back to school.

Creepy Crawlies - Home School Program

Come and visit our creepy, crawly creatures!

Your students will observe the parts and characteristics of insects and other critters. Come play with bugs, make an insect craft,and interacting with our living creepy crawlies!

Cuba IMAX 2D

Experience a land of spectacular beauty that's home to people renowned for their passion in the film Cuba. You will be transported across breathtaking island landscapes, below the ocean surface to dazzling reefs, and into streets invigorated by music and dance in the heart of Havana.

 

 

 

D-Day: Normandy 1944 2D

June 6, 1944: The largest Allied operation of World War II began in Normandy, France. Yet, few know in detail exactly why and how, from the end of 1943 through August 1944, this region became the most important location in the world.

Blending multiple cinematographic techniques, including animation, CGI and stunning live action images, D-Day 3D: Normandy 1944 brings this monumental event to the world's largest screens for the first time ever. Audiences of all ages, including new generations, will discover from a new perspective, in breathtaking IMAX® 3D, how this landing changed the world. Exploring history, military strategy, science, technology and human values, the film will educate and appeal to all. Narrated by Tom Brokaw, D-Day 3D: Normandy 1944 pays tribute to those who gave their lives for our freedom. A duty of memory, a duty of gratitude.

DARK MATTERS: Game On!

Dark Matters is open to guests ages 18 and older.

You will be asked to show government issued photo identification. Individuals without proper ID will be denied access. No children under the age of 18 will permitted in the science centre during Dark Matters events.

Deep Sea 3D

Deep Sea offers astonishing up-close encounters with some of the most strange and exotic creatures on the planet, from the bizarre rainbow nudibranch to the giant Pacific octopus. Every animal here is dependent on another for survival, so the cooperation that exists between these ocean dwellers is the key to a flourishing neighborhood.

Dino Diggers (Ages 6-7)

Does your child have a knack for remembering very complicated dinosaur names? Do they want to be a paleontologist when they grow up? Then this is the camp for them! Dino Diggers will use paleontological skills to uncover dinosaur fossils, eggs, and bones. As campers learn about the different periods in which dinosaurs ruled, they will explore how dinosaurs walked, how big they were, and get to invent their own dinosaur.

Fabulous Five Senses - Home School Program

How do we learn about the world around us? By using our senses!

In this program, students will explore and examine their senses through activities and experiments at stations, then come together for a tasty treat!

Flight of the Butterflies 3D

An awe-inspiring tale of extraordinary insect endurance and human perseverance.

Flight of the Butterflies is an interconnected scientific adventure story that spans not only thousands of miles, but generations. It s about the remarkable monarch butterfly migration, the longest known insect migration on Earth, and the determined scientist who spent 40 years trying to discover exactly where the butterflies mysteriously disappeared when they flew south for winter.

Forensic Investigators (Age 7-9)

Mischief and trickery is the name of the game. A priceless artifact has gone missing from the TELUS World of Science-Edmonton and we need your help. Your camper has one day to unlock the clues to find the whereabouts of the missing artifact.

Gadgets & Gizmos (Ages 8-9)

If you can dream it, you can build it! The best way to discover is to design, create, and build in The Science Garage this summer. Use awesome tools to test your ideas, build creative contraptions, and make useful gadgets to bring home. You'll finish this camp with new maker skills and a passion for creation!

- Use of The Science Garage Workshop as the campers'  home base

- Build and launch rockets

- Use real tools for building projects

 

Galapagos: Nature's Wonderland 3D

In the vastness of the Pacific Ocean, there is a paradise unlike any other: the Galapagos archipelago. Amongst these fascinating and remote volcanic islands, life has played out over millions of years in relative isolation. The result is a wonderland of nature, with a remarkable collection of plants and charismatic animals that have all adapted to this unique environment.

Is your child passionate about video games and video production? Learn the basics of capturing video, creating storylines, and engineering audio and video to create the same kind of fun, engaging content that you love. By the end of this camp, you ll understand the fundamentals that go into creating high quality video content, as well as understanding good digital citizenship.
